PEEL REGION (May 5, 2016) – United Way of Peel Region’s Young Leaders Council held their first Millennial 90’s in the 905 event earlier tonight.

The event welcomed some of Peel’s top CEO's and senior staff from both the private and public sector, followed by a 90's dance party.orts are key challenges facing Peel’s population

“We wanted to hold an event that was unique to Peel while also providing guests exclusive access to some of the most impressive individuals I’ve ever met. We auctioned off lunches with these executives to raise funds to support the work of this great organisation.” said Shivi Gill, Chair, Young Leaders Council. “United Way is working to end poverty in Peel, that’s why, as a millennial, I choose to volunteer with them”

“It was inspiring to see the dynamic dialogue between inter-generational leaders. United Way believes that the best way to accelerate social change is to bring together the different generations to share their diverse perspectives to develop solutions to prevent and reduce poverty in Peel." said Shelley White, President and CEO, United Way of Peel Region. “I want to thank the senior executives here tonight who have generously donated their time to meet with our guests. United Way is proud to provide the platform for this kind of collaboration.”

At the event, United Way of Peel Region also announced a partnership with Beyoncé’s BeyGood initiative to inspire everyone through The Formation World Tour to get involved in building stronger communities. Fans coming together—in activities big and small—will make a difference in their communities throughout the course of the tour. United Way of Peel Region will be giving away tickets to Beyoncé’s show at the Rogers Centre on May 25th.
