United Way of Peel Region shares Investing for Impact report at Annual Meeting Meeting

BRAMPTON (June 24, 2014) – This morning, at its annual meeting, United Way of Peel Region released its 2013/14 Investing for Impact report.

This report represents a new way of doing things – a new way to measure United Way’s investments in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga. For the first time in its history, United Way is reporting in real-time – data collected by agency partners by individuals served, geography, disability and mental health from April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014..

“With the contributions of so many – from donors to volunteers, agencies to the private sector, and labour to government – we’ve been able to offer help and hope to over 203,200 Peel residents who are most vulnerable,” says Board Chair Judy Burns.

“Every individual number represents a life. And behind that life is a real story; and more often than not, a complex one that touches on several issues,” says Shelley White, President and CEO, United Way of Peel Region. “Sometimes one can get caught up with numbers and lose sight of the fact that we are creating lasting, measurable improvements in the social conditions, health and wellbeing of individuals right in our own backyard.”

The full report contains a snapshot of United Way’s impact within the community through its partnerships and collaborations, along with a detailed breakdown of United Way’s commitment to be a catalyst for change.
