A senior grieving the loss of her husband receives support from a volunteer visitor provided through a United Way funded agency. The companionship keeps her active and engaged in her community.

A young man suffering a mental illness is a shut-in and dependant on his parents. After receiving treatment, he starts work at a café supported by a Social Purpose Enterprise grant. The support he receives builds his confidence, allowing him to gain work experience, financial stability and, ultimately, independence.

After fleeing an abusive partner, a mother of three receives the counselling and support that she and her children need to feel safe, happy and whole again.

Many people in our community face difficult personal challenges. Challenges such as these require integrated and holistic solutions that draw on the collective resources of our entire community.
