How to Get Involved

Volunteers select from a variety of work projects submitted by agencies funded by United Way of Peel Region. The project summary list identifies the agency name, the type of project available and the number of volunteers requested by the agency.

Use the project list to match your skills and interests and to identify your volunteer interests. Teams may be split amongst a number of projects or agencies dependent upon your preference. A maximum of 10 persons per company per project is permitted. A maximum of 20 participants from one company is permitted, unless opportunities exist following the registration deadline.

The next Day of Caring will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2010.

New! A disclaimer is now included in the online application process regarding volunteer registration and media release information. Once you register you will have agreed to the following terms and conditions:

By agreeing to participate in the project that my company has either registered for, or that has been assigned to my company by the United Way of Peel Region as part of “Day of Caring”.

You understand that in doing so you will fall under the direction and supervision of the agency for which the project is undertaken. You understand and accept that United Way of Peel Region is the facilitator for “Day of Caring” and assumes no responsibility for any accident or injury as a result of my participation on that day.

You hereby give United Way of Peel Region permission to use photographs or any other visual media taken at Day of Caring for public relations and promotion in any of the following communications and fundraising publications:

  • United Way of Peel Region campaign materials
  • Media Relations
  • United Way of Peel Region annual report
  • United Way of Peel Region website
  • United Way of Peel Region newsletters

Volunteers are asked to a commit to a project for the duration indicted in the project details. Volunteers are responsible for their own transportation. Agencies will provide all supplies required to complete their projects.
