MBOT's 2014 Not for Profit of the Year!

Last Thursday was an amazing night.

At the 2014 Business Awards of Excellence, hosted by the Mississauga Board of Trade, United Way of Peel Region was awarded the distinction of 2014 Not for Profit of the Year!

As the Chair of United Way’s board, a passionate volunteer and a long-time supporter of United Way, this honour is important to me on several levels. It is a validation of our work within Peel Region. It is also a recognition by the business community that an investment in United Way is a wise one and an opportunity to strengthen our relationships with the business community so that we may continue making an impact!

United Way allocates funds effectively and efficiently, to areas of greatest need all throughout Peel Region and I am proud that MBOT recognizes this as well. We are able to create sustainable poverty-reduction solutions, locally. However, we would only be able to do that with your ongoing support.

United Way plays a vital role in building the human capital in our community and contributes to robust economic development and productivity. The business community plays a vital role in this work as well with its ongoing support. We need everyone at the table in order to make the type of change we want to see.

With genuine appreciation and gratitude, I would like to thank MBOT for naming United Way of Peel Region the 2014 Not for Profit of the Year!

Together, we are changing lives. Together, we are creating opportunity. Together, we are possibility.
