Good Food Brampton Community Kitchen open

Written by // Sharon Douglas Categories // From poverty to possibility

Congratulations Catholic Family Services of Peel-Dufferin on the launch of the Good Food Brampton Community Kitchen.

In the past 10 years, poverty has increased by more than 50% in Peel Region. Our current food system is not working. Too many people are unable to access healthy food, especially food that is locally grown. Our most vulnerable citizens are surviving on poor quality food. As a result, their physical and mental health are being seriously eroded.

There is no such thing when they share the common goal of helping our community!

The classic tale of Stone Soup came to life today as over 700 United Way of Peel Region donors and volunteers came together to kick off our 2013 fundraising campaign.

Stone Soup is an inspirational story about the strength people possess when they work together.
